Laundry booster

I bought this originally for a birthday craft for Julia’s 7th bday. (Slime goo)

It was a hit craft, if I may brag. šŸ˜ I had fun myself with this craft.

Anyway, I only used a fraction of this huge box. Not a big deal since this only cost me a a few dollars. And I’ve never bothered to find a use for it.

I’ve now moved this box a third time and I’m tired of moving crap i don’t use. I also hate waste. So today, I’m using 1/2 cup for a load of towels. The box says it’s supposed to soften water, and get laundry cleaner and better smelling. We’ll see!

Thanksgiving Sides

Happy Thanksgiving!

Nathan left this morning at 10am to go pick up Julia and take her to Rockford to celebrate Thanksgiving with his family.  I have the wonderful excuse of working tonight and tomorrow, so no need to be be dragged all the way to Dekalb and than have to make the drive all the way back with a cranky child to Lombard to nap.  I’m a free agent!

I get to go see my family today and I’m bring corn casserole.  Of course I have to try the Paula Deen recipe.  I love corn casserole, because its so easy to make.
-1 can of whole kernel corn

-1 can of creamed corn

-1 cup of sour cream

-1 stick of butter

Topped with Chedder cheese

1 box of cornbread mix.  The directions recommended Jiffy’s.  Now that I think of it. It may be a much smaller box and I may have used too big a box of corn muffin mix.  Oops.  We shall see how it turns out!  I am not a big fan of Jiffy’s. So i tried Krusteaz.  A 12 oz box.

Mix all together (melted butter) and pop in oven at 350degrees for about 45 min.  Top it with Chedder cheese and than pop back in oven for about 10 more min. Or til cheese is melted!  I’ll post back with a review of whether or not I should use this recipe again next year!
Well It was definitely too much cornbread mix. I was only supposed to use half the amount of the mix.  Despite this, there was a too much butter.  It is definitely perfect when its just out of the oven.  But it dries out too easily once its warmed up.
